Digital signature linked to your phone number. Allows:
- Authentication on government portals (Finanças, SNS, Social Security)
- Electronic document signing
- IRS tax filing
How to activate: at Loja do Cidadão, CTT post office, Espaço Cidadão, or online via id.gov.pt (with Cartão de Cidadão and PIN).

Waste Collection
Regular waste is collected daily or every other day (depending on area). Bulky waste — by request through Câmara Municipal (free, up to a certain volume).
Pets
Registration
All dogs and cats must be registered in SIAC (Sistema de Informação de Animais de Companhia):
- Microchip is mandatory (from 3 months for dogs, from 2024 for cats)
- Registration — through a veterinarian
- Cost: ~€20–30 (microchip + registration)
Vaccination
- Rabies: mandatory for dogs (annually)

In Portugal, it is illegal to leave dogs tied up unsupervised on the street. Fines for inadequate care range from €50 to €3,740.
